App Mechanics

Question Banks & Local Backup

  • Autosave: Every review immediately persists spaced repetition state and progress to browser local storage. Clearing a card queue writes an incremental local backup checkpoint.
  • Load Question Bank: Imports a JSON array of custom cards formatted as [{"q": "...", "a": "...", "cat": "..."}]. Merges or initializes new cards while preserving existing intervals.
  • Restore Data / Export History: Creates and restores full JSON snapshots of both your card bank and your SM-2 retention statistics.

Speech & Read-Aloud

  • Header Speaker Toggle: Toggles Auto-Speech mode on card display/flip.

How to Operate

  • Flip Button: Rotates the question card to display the answer. Bidirectional flip buttons appear on both faces.
  • Swipe Right (Easy): Marks item remembered; schedules graduation.
  • Swipe Left (Hard): Marks recall lapse; schedules for 10 min.
  • Fanfare: Audio signal triggers when clearing a category queue.

Built on a modified SuperMemo SM-2 algorithm:

  • Initial Step: 1 Day
  • Second Step: 6 Days
  • Graduation: Multiplied by the card's Easiness Factor (EF).

Cards marked 'Hard' reset intervals back to zero and degrade EF factor.
